Oriental Medicine: health is an expression of balance, Oriental Medicine views disease as physical expressions of an imbalance within the body. Oriental Medicine Physicians look at the symptoms, along with other diagnostic methods, to identify patterns of disharmony. Each of the body organ systems must be in balance within itself as well as within its relationship to the other organ systems.
Acupuncture: a procedure used in or adapted from Chinese medical practice in which specific body areas are pierced with fine needles for therapeutic purposes or to relieve pain.

What is restorative yoga? From our instructor:
|
| |
In the midst of our hectic lives we rarely get the opportunity to treat ourselves to quiet restfulness. We are always on the go, stuck in thoughts and check lists for the future or worried about what has happened in the past. In restorative yoga we treat ourselves to series of gentle movements and soothing postures intended to allow our body to switch out of the stress mode and turn on our own innate wisdom and ability to heal. The practice will begin with gentle movements to awaken our senses and shed the stressors of the day, progressing to a series of restorative postures using props: blankets, pillows, blocks, and straps, to create a supported relaxation of the body and mind. The goal of restorative yoga is to leave to class feeling lighter, rejuvenated, and well rested allowing your body the space to heal and be well.
